I grew up in an asian culture and these outdoor chinese theaters where the actors painted their faces. I can't say that I enjoyed the shows very much, but the makeup on the models in the pictures are quite accurate.
Furthermore the more angular features of the caucasian male make the makeup even more exotic. I never thought I'd be turned on by chinese opera but... thanks niwdenapolis.
