I was raised by my loving parents in the small northern BC town of Terrace. After I finished high school, I worked at the local TV/Radio station behind the scenes and as an on air personality. After a year of dabbling in the media industry, I decided to move to Vancouver and pursue my passion for makeup artistry.
I trained as a makeup artist in 2004 at Blanche MacDonald. I was awarded the CNOMA Award for Best Student Fashion Makeup Design in Canada. I worked at Holt Renfrew with Stila and Prescriptives before I struck out on my own. Some of my jobs included makeup for weddings, photo shoots and modeling shows.
While I was working in makeup, I modeled in a couple of small campaigns for Slikman and Ginch Gonch. I began to think that this might be the career for me. Everything changed when a photographer friend of mine told me about a modeling contest. They were looking for a new spokesmodel. After competing and winning the campaign, I decided I would give modeling a serious shot. So, I quit doing makeup and I haven't looked back!
I'm glad Tym is now in front of the camera.
